No seriously, “don’t go to work unless it’s fun day”… never heard of it? Neither had I, but apparently it occurs every year on April 3rd so make sure to mark your calendars for next year if you were unable to observe it this time around!
Tip: If you are observing this day by staying home from work, make sure to clear it with your manager first or take a well “sick” day; sleep in or get outside and enjoy one of the first days of spring!
At Swiftpage, it just so happens that our first “Living the Exclamation” value is – Work is fun with a purpose and we truly believe it. It is posted around our offices in multiple places to remind us in all that we do, it should be both purposeful and fun.
Whether it’s taking a quick break and grabbing three other Swifties to play a quick foosball match, wizzing to and from meetings on a razor scooter, catching up on the Swiftpage Turners book of the quarter or enjoying lunch on the rooftop patio; it’s sure to bring more fun to your work day. The balance between work and fun is really what it’s all about.
How can you bring fun into your workplace? Or are you one of the lucky ones taking the day off? Maybe you’re the employer and looking for a tip to keep your employees from playing hooky? Hint: enlist your companies’ Culture Club or a small group of volunteers to plan an activity to break up the day.
