The Universal Search option in Sage ACT! 2012 helps you quickly find key information in ACT! records or attached files. By default, Sage ACT! will return up to 50 results when you perform a search. However, you can tune this.
You can configure searching in a configuration file (an XML file). In the Sage ACT! installation directory in Program Files, you'll find a file named Act.Server.Host.exe.config. In this file, you'll see the following:
Change the number 50 to a different number to increase or decrease the number of results returned. You do have to restart the service that is responsible for searching after you've changed this file. You can do so by rebooting the machine, or by stopping and starting a Windows service named ACT! Services Host via administrative tools (type "Services.msc" in the Run command on Start Menu, then select ACT! Services Host, and stop and restart it).
