Fast Tip Friday: Toolbar Tips and Tricks #SageACT

Actually, it's kind of a turkey tip since most of you turkeys are out for the long holiday weekend! Smiley Very Happy

 

Last week you learned how to create a custom toolbar button that executes a saved query. Customizing the toolbars is a great way to personalize Sage ACT! for the way you work. In honor of the short week, this tip is going to be a quick one. The following is a quick list of easy toolbar tweaks you can use to make your toolbar even more personalized! With the “Customize Menus and Toolbars” dialog box open, you can:

 

  • Rename a toolbar button or menu command
  • Display only Text instead of an icon for a button
  • Display only a button instead of text
  • Display both text and a button
  • Reset all of your toolbars back to their original state

Rename a Toolbar Button or Menu Command

 

1.  From the Tools menu, point to Customize, and then click Menus and Toolbars.

2.  With the “Customize Menus and Toolbars” dialog box open, right click the menu option or button to rename.

 

 

3.  Click in the Name: box and type the new name.

 

Display Text/Button/Both Icon for a Button

 

1.  From the Tools menu, point to Customize, and then click Menus and Toolbars.

2.  With the  “Customize Menus and Toolbars” dialog box open, right click the menu option or button:

 

 

  • Select Default Style to display only the button image/icon
  • Select Text Only (Always) to display only text (name) and not an icon
  • Select Image and Text (Always) to display both the icon and the text (name)

Reset All Toolbars

 

1.  From the Tools menu, point to Customize, and then click Menus and Toolbars.

2.  With the “Customize Menus and Toolbars” dialog box open, right click the menu option or button.

 

 

3.  Select Rest All to restore the default toolbars and menus.
