Whether you are getting ready for Turkey day, shopping Black Friday deals, or working, you might turn to the Sage ACT! Scratchpad to jot down those random tasks. This special holiday tip provides some ideas for making the most of the Sage ACT! Scratchpad.
Sage ACT! Scratchpad Tips:
Here are some great tips for maximizing the usefulness of the Sage ACT! Scratchpad:
First, before you start writing list items, put a little thought into how to capture your tasks. Ideally, tasks are specific actions that contribute to the completion of a project, sale, or whatever. List items should not be the entire project itself!
List items should include an action, and details required to perform the action. For example, if you need to set an appointment with Bob Robertson, then include whether you will email or call Bob. You may also include Bob’s phone number or email address. Although, Sage ACT! can provide that level of detail if you send the task to Sage ACT! and capture it as an activity!
Review your list at the start and/or end of each day to update list priorities. Select a list item, and then use the up / down arrows in Sage ACT! Scratchpad to re-prioritize list items.
Use cut/copy/paste: If you have text in notepad, Microsoft Outlook, a web page, or elsewhere, you can select it, and then press CTRL + C on your keyboard (or right click selected text and choose Copy). Then, click in a new line in the Sage ACT! Scratchpad, and press CTRL + V to paste the text into the list.
Organize Your List:
Use simple formatting to group list items, and organize your list. For example, you may create a “heading” for Work versus Personal tasks:
Alternatively, you may choose to organize tasks by completion deadline:
Using these simple tips, you can get more out of the Sage ACT! Scratchpad, and hopefully get more done! Happy Thanksgiving!
