Change is Coming--Community Upgrade Scheduled

by kjosephs on ‎04-19-2010 11:06 AM (2,774 Views)

We have great news.  New enhancements are scheduled to roll out in the community April 29th.

We have been working with Lithium, our community hosting provider, to prepare for an upgrade to the latest version.  There are some great changes that you will absolutely love.  The user interface to create articles and post new threads handles copy and paste so much better.  For those of you sharing information from existing documents,  presentations, or just wanting to copy an image into your message, you will be so happy!  Ok, you will probably mutter something like, "it's about time!"  And, then you will likely do it again, just to make sure you didn't imagine it.

Here are a few more changes you can expect:

  • Updated look and feel
  • Improved navigation (such as quick reply and preference settings)
  • Unread discussion display --Yes, really!
  • Auto-save Drafts
  • Enhanced search capability

There have been many comments and concerns around the search capability as it exists today.  In the next release, we have a new feature called Search 2.0.  I have included a screen shot and a FAQ to provide you some information on this change.  Should we adopt Search 2.0, our existing Advanced Search capabilities will be  replaced.  So, we would love to have a few volunteers test the new Search Capability and put it to the test.  If you are interested, please leave a comment on this article, and we will follow up with you.  We will start considering candidates next week.

We look forward to hearing your feedback as we move to this new release.

Thanks,

Kim
