In a future release, make smart task that can apply to contact history and emails. Two examples are below:
EXAMPLE 1: Create a smart task which performs as follows: "When any contact who is a member of Group A completes an appointment with the text "Monthly Sales Meeting" in the "Regarding" field of the appointment, create a follow up call with that contact 3 days from the date of the meeting."
EXAMPLE 2: Create an email rule or smart task which performs as follows: "When an email is received with the text 'Request 4038' in the subject line, take User field 1 of the contact and enter "Yes". (This scenario assumes, of course, the contact already exist in the Act! database).
This type of automation is available in Goldmine, but not in Act.
On a side note, it would be good if the Act Internet Email option would support port assignments.
