Many companies have customers who order on a regular basis and they need to be able to get a quick summary to compare sales, of the type: sales year to date this year compared with last year, this quarter compared with last, last month compared with the same period last year, and so on.
Whilst you can obtain this data for individual contacts with a bit of digging, what's really needed is a way to find all the contacts who have sales figures up or down by whatever percentage over a previous period.
To this end, it would be really neat if you could configure "sales summary fields" on the contact screen that could pull these figures from the Opportunity tables.
The benefits would be huge. Imagine if you could do a lookup of all your contacts whose sales are down by 5% on this time last year, then target them with a Sage Email Marketing for ACT! promotional mailer. Awesome.
