In Report Designer, when modifing an envelope, the only options are adjusting the margins. All other options are grayed out.
It would be very useful if all these options were enabled.
For example, the Paper Size is fixed, at Com-10 in my case. I cannot select a #10 envelope, which seems odd to put it mildly. The only option is to adjust the margins to locate the print output to match the envelope.
I think the following is a work around.
Go to Report Designer for the envelope of interest. Select File | Print Preview. In Print Preview, select Page Setup. In Page Setup, you are now able to change the Paper Size. Change to Com-10. Change the margins if necessary to fit the envelope correctly. Then close Print Preview.
In Report Designer, choose File | Page Setup, and verify that Com-10 is still selected. Verify the margins are still correct. Then select File | Save.
Good Luck. - mike
Mike, I too was having this problem, I did what you suggest, but then I get a message that reads,
"Do you want to reflow the document with the new page settings?" I click yes and nothing happens. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Marvin
I agree that the envelope designer is not easy to work with!
This is probably the most frustrating thing I ever have to do in Act
and frankly do not use it unless I have a stack of envelopes to do.
The compounding problem is that act reacts differently with every
printer and usually takes me numerous samples to figure out.
This waste both time and envelopes. I think the whole envelope printing
feature should be revisited by Act!
