Because of the different purposes of projects vs. opportunities, we need to have both as seperate functions within ACT. Not being a programmer, it seems to me that the Opportunities module (for lack of a better term) could be replicated but called projects. And yes, I know it is not that simple, but needs to be asked just the same.
Opportunities are great for building and managing the pipeline. Using Opportunities as a project, though, just muddies the water.
At one time, ACT had both projects and opportunities and the user just had to select which view he wanted. There were inherent problems with that, and maybe that is why it went away.
If you want to see projects added as a seperate module or function, PLEASE KUDO this post.
Totally agree.
In fact I suggested this a while ago:
So maybe there are only a few of us who would value this functionality?
As a small business owner / salesperson I have a need for both as well. It would be nice to have such an option.
If you are looking for a robust project tracking solution we have one inside our add-on Impact Suite v5.
Thanks

Hey Jim,
It's Dana from MN. We spoke over the winter. Thanks for your reply. Still working on a RE build out. MS version stability / reliability has continued to be an issue in Access.
May be coming back to Act! to give it a try again.
If workflows could be scheduled for opportunities, my decision would already be made to come back to Act! and make it work for my needs.
