Whilst the half-and-half screen split with the tabs works well in many circumstances, there are instances where the upper screen space is at a premium, and there's not enough room on the screen for all the fields you want to see as standard.
Of course, you can move the splitter down to gain more space in the top half, and in fact you can move the splitter all the way to the bottom of the screen so you can just see the tab labels. This has the benefit that you have nearly a whole screen to design your layout, but you can't now see what's in each tab without repositioning the splitter (eg by double-clicking it).
What we need is a pop-up tabs option!
That way, the tabs can be permanently positioned at the bottom of the screen, and to on clicking a tab, the tab window opens UP over the bottom half (tab height adjustable) of the screen to view it and pops don again when you're done.
While were at it, why restrict the tabs to the bottom? Why can't I put the tabs at the top or on the side if I want?
