Sometimes it is necessary to replace some but not all of a field value.
Good examples of this are when a city's telephone dialing code changes or when an email extension changes (ie the part after @).
If only a small number of records are affected then it's not such a problem but if you working with hundreds or even thousands of contacts it can be a real headache.
The only way of dealing with it currently is to perform an export into Excel, change the data there and then re-import it back into ACT! and this can fall foul of duplicate matching issues.
It would be a great solution if, like Excel, you could just change part of the field value without having to replace the whole thing.
This type of oversight and inability to fix is one reason why I find it hard to reccomend ACT to other clients. Were on version 16 you would have thought by now ACT would have fixed this issue
