I would like to be able to make old Contact records "Inactive".
Sometimes contacts become inactive. You could delete them from your database, but you might wish to keep them for future reference, or they may become Active again at some future date.
It would be neat if we could have a one-click "Make Inactive" button which effectively removed them from view, from all users. However, Administrators could "Show Inactive Records" if desired.
If Inactive Contact Records were linked to Companies, Opportunities or Groups, they would be greyed out and marked "Inactive" in those areas.
Just as a thought ... that's a really big task.
What about activities or opportunities linked to active and inactive Contacts/Companies?
What about History, Notes, Activities linked to active and inactive?
What about attachments?
Would you want inactive Companies? If so, woul that mark all Contacts? How about Dynamic ones?
What about records synced via ACT!? To Outlook, Gmail, Connect or an add-on?
A possible (maybe simpler) option might be that those flagged operate as normal (for the most part) but don't show in Lookups/Reports unless you tick a checkbox to include them... with checkbox only available for Managers and Admins
