It's too easy to overlook a modified filter bar, so it should noticably change appearance, perhaps with a red or dark background when it is set to anything less than "wide open."
Seems this user-considerate mod could fall under the category of "easy" low-hanging fruit and provide improvements that make ACT! easier and more fun to use.
Perhaps this technique (of changing the toolbar/filterbar background) could be used as a visual method of indicating to users that the record they are viewing has been modified by them and has not yet been saved?
Yes - I suppose the saved status could be indicated, but not by the filter bar (any appearance change to a filter bar should ONLY indicate the filter has been changed from ALL details (ie. narrowed.)
I would think it important for any UI to be careful not to present too many visual cues lest they become overwhelming and thereby lose their impact.
Wondering if others might share comments to see the Filter Bar change appearance when modified.
We also need to have a RESET filter button that returns all filters to a default, wide-open state - rather than going back over them individually.
