I finally got it as to why the default is to add the name and the company to an opportunity when adding a contact.
However, when I do an Excel export of the opportunities, the name of the company defaults to the first in alphabetical order.
So when my manager asks for a list of all open opportunities, the company name may or may not be correct. For example, if my opportunity is with Zepher Motors and I am working on the opportunity with a rep from American Electronics, the name that will display in an export will be American Electronics. I then have to manually sort by company and look for names to change.
Very important as well for when I look up American Electronics in the companies view and can see all the opportunities with them, so I understand the reason.
Please give us the ability to select the company name for export. Not being a programmer, this seems simple. Every time I've said that, I get a long list of what I'm not thinking about.
