I would really like to be able to email a company without having to attach a contact to that company. So many of my clients are schools and they have a school email for general communications.
The same requirement is for telephone dialing. Nothing works for comapny numbers.
I think this is one of "religion" ... that is, in the ACT! view, you build relationships and communicate with people and the company records are more to collect and view the information for all the contacts at the account.
Maybe add the head teacher or administrator for those and flag the one contact (with a check box field) that you send general emails to

I've been reading the 'for and against' views on adding an email field to the company record, and all things being considered thus far, I'm of the view that being able to add a generic email address to a company is a good idea.
I agree with with Ben.
