Change Default History

Right now when you create a new history it defaults the history type Appointment or whatever is top of the list alphabetically, under the preferences there should be a setting where you can change the default type for new histories, say from appointment to meeting.

Thank you for your suggestion to improve Sage ACT!. There is currently a free add-on that can do what you are requesting:

That free add-on changes the default lookup field on the left navbar, which is very different from changing the default type for new histories like i mentioned.

This is what Greig meant to point you to: I agree though that its a little ridiculous to have to install a separate tool to get such basic, what used to be 'out-of-the-box' functionality. The default really needs to be call as it always was before ACT!/Outlook Sync was implemented.

what happened Matt was the feature was broken at some point and now its "working as designed".


ACT is about Calls, Meetings, and To-dos. 

Outlook is about Appointments.


ACT History should default back to CALLS like it did in versions 2 through 10 (or was it 11).

DItto.  Either default back to Calls or create an Admin permission that let's the administrator set the default activity type.

Yup. I'd like a default of Calls out of the box PLUS tha ability to set whatever default you want including custom activity types.

Default to Calls out of the bos and admin to change if needed.
