Also note, the field gets wiped every patch, so you have to remember to make the change each time

The file has already been configured. What I am talking about is having one user be able to use his/her preferences from any machine. What this "shared preferences" configuration does is allow the user to connect from the same machine in an environment where you use multiple web servers.

 

I am asking that if the user goes home and connects via their home computer, that the preferences be used on a user basis. Currently, preferences are stored (in a single web or multiple web situration) by the machine being used and not by the user who is connecting.

 

To test this:

 

Connect to a test APFW site from machine A. Set some preferences (default record options, startup view, etc)

Connect to the same test APFW site from machine B. Note that even though you logged in as the same user, the preferences in the first step are not respected.

 

That is because you connected via a different machine.

Preferences should be in the database.
