Appointment: to be able to have a place to add: things to bring. Ex: projector etc...
There is already a Details tab for activities...you can use that to add extra info
Also in the Availability tab (like the details tab) there is a button for "users/resources" which you can use too to add projector etc and then select that as needed
I believe that activity "Resources" are only available in ACT! Premium products. Resources are a field on activities that allow users to reserve items such as Laptops, projectors, conference rooms etc. so that other users will see conflict checking when trying to reserve those items also.
Activity Details is the best place to do this standard ACT!
