By adding the ID/Status field to the history list it would be possible to analyse calls to prospects, calls to customers, meetings with suppliers etc adding value to the information sales managers can gain from the system.
You can configure the ID/Status field in the Define Fields section to "Generate History" - this would create a history entry whenever the field is updated for any contact, and these history entries would be visible in the History List.
Yeah, but since I made that ID/Status change 8 years ago when I first entered the contact details it's unlikely to show up in last week's history which is where I need it.

Having the ability to display the contact ID/Status in the history list, task list AND opportunities list is asked for all the time. As Jeff mentioned it helps users analyze who these contacts are.
Impact Suite is the perfect solution to this, and any request for list views that include fields from other entities in Act!
