So I am long-time customer and user of Act and we just recently upgraded to the 2012 to take advantage of the 64 bit environment. Unfortunately, I just got off the phone with Act Tech Support and they informed me that there is no fix for my problem.
MY PROBLEM IS...that the "Select your home/load screen" feature in the Start-Up Preference tab does not work when you have the "Open each view in a separate window" selected. Even though we have the Contact screen selected as our preference, the system forces the Connections screen to load first, when each view opens in a separate window.
Tech support says that there is no know fix except for upgrading to 2013.
You can imagine how disappointed I am to discover this, given the fact that we just upgraded to 2012!
I would like to propose that SAGE Act consider the thousands of dollars customers have already paid not just in licensing but also in implementation costs and offer a hot fix for 2012 that also resolves this problem, so the customer does not have to incur more expense for a silly oversight such as this.
Or...offer 2012 customers a free upgrade option to 2013, if Act maintains that this will be the only way to fix.
At the end of the day, the Connections screen feels like you are trying to force advertisements at us. It's already old, and two or three years from now, it will be all the more frustrating and unacceptable.
