In the last month or so our firm has experienced issues with the template editor; specifically, the template editor is expanding certain elements beyond the 580 pixel absolute email width (see the attached example). It is impacting images, in some cases they will render at 600 pixels, even though they were created at 580 pixels wide. We're also seeing weird spacing issues, where font will jump to the next line after the email as been sent (see the attached example, the links at the top). When viewing it in the template editor it will look fine, but post send it's garbled. Conversely, we've also had some cases where the text won't align correctly/expands beyond 580 pixels while using the template editor (prior to sending the email).
Our firm has logged two calls with Act eMarketing Support in Denver Colorado. Outcomes/suggestions are below:
Call 1 Outcome: rep indicated they were not aware of the issue, logged in and looked at what our system was doing. All but shrugged and had no answer for a resolution. Indicated that Act would have a release "next year" that would likely resolve and bring new functionality.
Call 2 Outcome: got a different rep, this one made the tedious suggestion that the copy/text alignment and spacing could be resolved using the spacebar and hard returns.....this was both tedious and not really a resolution. Had no insight into why the images where rendering at different widths.
Has there been a change to the AEM email width? Is it now 600px wide? Couldn't this have been announced?!?!?! HELP!

- Adobe Photoshop (updated) to create .png image files (saved at the correct resolution, at 50kb or less).

We'll try removing the padding. Unfortunately, prior to US support being brought back from their offshore call center, we were told the absolute width was 580px.
