Emarketing Contacts

I'm new to the E-Marketing through ACT. We would like to send out an email to a certain list we've narrowed down. The list was narrowed down by Company, not Contact. Most of the companies in the list have multiple contacts within.

Will this email go to all of the contacts in each company (which is not a problem) or does that have to be set up another way?

Also, we wanted to make sure that there is a greeting of a First Name (inserted that field), will that still function properly if there are multiple contacts within one company?

Re: Emarketing Contacts

When accessing the Sage E-marketing 'submit' screen (click on Sage E-marketing for ACT! icon), there is an option for selecting a Company to send the blast to.  The blast is directed to the contacts, so if your template contains the code for 'First Name', it will be populated accordingly.

This option works if you want to send to all contacts associated with a Company. Note: This option will only send to 1 Company at a time.

If you want to limit to specific contacts and send all at the same time, you will have to further define your list.  An option for doing that would be to: 1. Create a new company (or Group) called 'E Blast' (just an example, it can be anything); 2. Right click on a desired Company > select Create Lookup. 3. Highlight the contacts you wish to send the blast to (hold CTRL down and click contacts) > then right click in highlighted area and select 'Add Contacts to Company' > attach to 'E Blast'.  Repeat these steps for additional Companies/Contacts.  Then initiate the Sage E-marketing blast using the 'Selected Company' to 'E Blast'.

Note: Always send a test blast to yourself to review the formatting, before sending it to customers.  It may look a little different in an email system than it does in a web browser.
