Email template skews when typing in additional text

When you type in additional text on an HTML template when in eMarketing it skews the template.

Any ideas how to overcome this please

Thanks

Hi roosborne,

Are you using Act! emarketing or Swiftpage emarketing?
Is the template one you have created externally and imported?

Could you please provide us with some screenshots of the template before and after it has skewed?

Re: Email template skews when typing in additional text

We are using Act emarketing.  The template has been created in-house but imported into Act.

I have just tried adding an attachment to show screen shots and it won't accept an attachment which again is yet another issue with act.

Thank you

I have now managed to attach a file - the first time it's ever worked

Re: Email template skews when typing in additional text

Hi roosborne,

Custom HTML template designing and modification is not a service which we can provide support with. This comes down the intricacies of each individual custom template and the complexity of coding layouts.

There are a few suggestions that I can provide when it comes to tweaking your templates for use in Act! emarketing:

  • Ensure your template overall width is no larger than 600px.
  • Be aware of any padding that may be applied to the template after upload. Use web inspectors like the one built into Chrome to check for this and pinpoint trouble elements that are causing overflowing.
  • Currently our editor does not support 100% width styling.
  • It's recommended to use true HTML code with inline styles over a CSS based layout.

Re: Email template skews when typing in additional text

When editing a HTML template, it is always best to wait it in a code editor like dreamweaver or even notepad. This ensures nothing other than your additional text is added. If you wait in something more the Act e-marketing interface, it is likely extra formatting is added which will mess up the layout.
