Re: Email formatting always messed up

Good morning Drallim,

Try this:

  1. Create a new 50/50 text column below that text.
  2. Select and copy the text you posted from this forum.
  3. Right click in the template and "Paste as Plain Text".
  4. Re-align left and format.

Pasting as plain text is important to strip out any formatting of the line height that somehow got messed up.

Another way to completely sidestep the issue could be to just use full 100% width columns instead of putting this info side by side.  In my humble opinion it looks a bit more readable for this technical info, compared to the 2 column layout.

Re: Email formatting always messed up

This text has not been pasted.... I have typed it directly into the text box.

It has happened again,as per attachment.

I'm not trying to do anything complicated with my formatting... I'm just trying to line up two columns that have equal amounts of text.

HI Drallim,

Is your template based of a stock template in Act emarketing, or are you importing a HTML template?

I have tested by creating a new 2 column text block and pasted in your text from your earlier post. These are the steps I then took in each column separately In the text editor mode:

  • Selected all the text and fully justified the selection
  • Made the first line bold
  • Selected all the text and set the font size to 14px

The result in layout mode:

This was also done in Chrome.

Re: Email formatting always messed up

Hi Gary, thanks for your reply.

I ended up copying the the text that I had typed into the text boxes into Word and then pasting it back in before readjusting the font size etc. (pretty much how you have described).

This is a simple work-around for when it next happens, but it does seem a bit buggy.

FYI, I am using a stock template with a band as per advice given to the OP earlier in this thread.
