Hi,
Totally confused. I have segmented all of my database of 2824 contacts. However, despite each contact being properly assigned, The total contacts actually acknowledged is only 1676.
Even if I select "all contacts" the figure is the same. Has my database become corrupted somehow?
Any advise would be welcome, as I cannot see a way to find out which contacts are not getting my mail shots.
Best regards

If you are using ACT mail merge to send out your emails you could look up the Last Email field with an after date to get an idea which ones are missing.

Hi Gary,
I segmented my database as below
Retailers 0-9 7
A-G 421
H-O 299
P-Z 392
Manufacturers
A-G 161
H-O 98
P-S 231
T-Z 43
Plus a small specialist amount
Total Contacts 1676
However, According to Act I have 2824 contacts. So where is the missing 1148 contacts? As far as I can possibly tell, every contact has been assigned a segment.
I am quite puzzled by the whole thing.
The only way I was thinking to resolve the matter was to delete every segment and start again. However I cannot find a way of doing this in a bulk manner. It would be a pain if I had to do it one by one.
Best regards
Norman

Hi Norman,
Have you used groups in Act to segment your contacts?
Are you getting your contact counts from the number at the bottom of the group detail view window? (see screenshot below)
How are you adding contacts to these groups?

Hi,
Using your example, the figures are totally different.
sent true figure
Retailers 0-9 7 7
A-G 421 616
H-O 299 440
P-Z 392 531
Manufacturers A-G 161 354
H-O 98 273
P-S 231 447
T-Z 43 110
When I add a new contact I assign them to a segment using the "Groups" tab. The total contacts figure is shown on every contact record, i.e. 275 of 2824. I do not understand why when making the mail out segment by segment that the figures do not match up.
Best regards

Forgive me for stating the obvious but emails will only be sent to contacts with a valid email address.
Are you saying that the total in groups is not the same as in the whole database or those sent an email are not the same as the group total?
When you create a group do you put them in manually or are you using dynamic membership based on a criteria?
It is possible for the number in groups to exceed the total number in the database as a contact can be in more than 1 group, what is the total when in the contact view for all contacts?
If you create a dynamic group using the criteria Field Record Manager Contains Data does the number in the group = the number of contact in the database?

Hi,
1.The email addresses have been verified and apart from a contact leaving their company they are all valid.
2. No, the total in groups is a different figure from the number sent out via Emarketing
3. I put the contacts into groups manually. I have no idea what a Dynamic Membership is
4. I do not have any duplicate contacts in different segments. I have 2824 contacts but using Emarketing it appears only 1676 were emailed to.

Thanks for the detailed response.
One last question - Where are are you getting the figure for emails sent from?

Hi,
The figure is direct from Emarketing when assigning the mailshot to a group, and later from the reports
Thanks
