There's actually more automation in MailChimp on the MailChimp end of things - you'd use the plugin to get your list sync'd to MailChimp and then let the automation in MailChimp trigger additional emails, etc.

all templates sent to outlook 2016 inbox are not displaying 2 column templates, it makes them linear 1 column. How do I fix this?
In addition, the fonts are different in every window, though appear ok in online template and other mail systems.

I've tested adding a two-column, and three-column block to a basic one-column responsive template. When previewing, and sending a test email, the template displays with the correct number of columns. When viewed on a mobile device, the template will compress the columns into a one-column layout. This is the principle of the responsive template.
If you template is compressing to one-column on all email clients, both mobile and desktop, then I would suggest opening a ticket with the emarketing team with details of the affected template so the individual template can be investigated.

The fact that you are getting different fonts displayed in different browsers aswell means it is 99.9% likely this is a coding issue. Did you say it was a custom template or something designed within AEM?
It is always ideal to see the code, otherwise we are only guessing/speculating and can't truly solve anything without it.
