The function 'NEW MESSAGE'

An idea for the flag 'New message'

Currently, the new message flag is also raised (number of new messages is raised) when you write a new message YOURSELF.
This is a non-desired way of working. In my opinion people will like to see the new message indicator only to reflect on new messages of OTHER people.

Just a thought.

Re: The function 'NEW MESSAGE'

This is purely a measure of whether you have actually seen a finished post. When replying, you are returned to the thread, so next time you see the new count it should be zero. For new posts, you are returned to the board view, and you will see that there is a new message since you have not actually seen the post in its finished (posted) version.

In your profile, there is a setting for Show Confirmation Page on a Successful Post. When using that setting, after posting you have the choice to go back to the thread instead of Board View. If you choose to go back to the thread, it will count the message as read.

For new posts to a thread, this doesn't work if your post is the first one to a new page.
It would also be good to zero the count even if going back to the board... and making going to the board/thread to be an option when posting. If the thread has multiple posts you want to reply to, you'll want to go back to the thread. Otherwise, you might want to go back to the board
