I have a problem with installing Sage Act on a Windows 7 computer. The installation will get to a certain point and then stop.
It comes up with the following message: Act has detected an Act7 instance that could not be connected successfully. Either you have entered incorrect password or SQL sever may not be running. The installation cannot continue at this time. Please run the installer again and provide a valid password or make sure that SQL (ACT7) instance is running and then continue installation.
I spoke to a techy at Swiftepage UK and he gave me a web article to look up, but it's fairly complex for me to understand. Other techy said that because it's a 2009 version of Act it's not compatable with Windows 7 but I have installed in ok on another Windows 7 computer without this problem. Can anyone help me?
