Have Act 2012 Pro on laptop with Windows 7
SQL Server edition: MicroSoft SQL Server 2008 - Express Edition (64-bit)
Build version: 10.50.1600.1
Have been Act user since 1999 & have used ACT 2012 for past several years. Immediately after an automatic Windows update tried to back up Act database (as do regularly) and recieved following message:
"The following error occurred during backup. This backup was cancelled. Cannot insert duplicate key row in object 'sys.syscommittab' with unique index 'si_xdes_id'. Failed to flush the commit table to disk in dbid 30 due to error 2601. Check the errorlog for more information. BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally. PRC_MAINT_BACKUPDB: ERROR EXECUTING DATABASE BACKUP STATEMENT. The statement has been terminated."
Researched on Act Knowledge Base which says need go to MicroSoft (as Act 2012 no longer supported by SwiftPage) and download hotfix (Act KB 28141).
MicroSoft describes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Cumulative Update Package 6 as fixing following: "VSTS bug number 890599, KB article number 2682488, FIX: Backup operation fails in a SQL Server 2008 or in a SQL Server 2008 R2 database after you enable change tracking"
As there were several fixes to choose from, downloaded the fix that appeared to closest to what the KB described (named "SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 CU6 2679360 10 50 2811 x64") Ran hotfix. At "Select Features" page receive following error:
"the version of SQL Server ACT7 does not match the version expected by the SQL Server update. Installed SQL Server product version is 10.50.1600.1. and the expected SQL version is 10.51.2500.0"
Reading the Microsoft info it says all hotfixes are cumulative so not sure what issue is and I do not see a hotfix for version 10.50.1600.1.
Would welcome assistance.
