when Act will run with XP Windows 64bit operative system?

I am interested in using Act, but I am obliged to use it on a PC which uses XP windows 64 bit someone said me that Act probably is not compatible with this operative system (also if a lot of 32 bit applications run without problems) ... could someone confirm this? and if yes someone knows (more or less) when Act will run on Win 64? Thanks for any help!

ACT! is currently not compatible with any 64bit operating system.

I have not heard of a set time table for it to work on 64 bit, but it is being investigated.

Re: when Act will run with XP Windows 64bit operative system?

One of the reasons is that Microsoft's SQL 2005 has a diferent edition for 64bit that they charge much more for. So even MS 32bit apps won't run under 64bit

I guess it would need a lot of users to want this to get Sage to pay Microsoft the $$$ to produce a 64bit version with the 64bit SQL

It's likely that not all that many ACT! users have 64bit OS at this time

You (and others who want this) might make a request at http://www.act.com/community/feature/index.cfm

This goes into a database that Sage management have access to, and if there are enough requests, it's more likely to move up the priority list

It doesn't matter if the PC is 64-bit or not, it only matter which operating system you use.

Also, this was an onld thread. Current versions of ACT! do now support 64-bit versions of Vista, Windows 2003 and Windows 2008.

See http://www.act.com/2009/system/ or this for the next version of ACT! -  http://www.act.com/2010/system/
