upgrade to ACT V 21 from V 17-windows 8.1, 64 bit

I am going to attempt to upgrade to ACT V 21 Pro from  V 17.1.169.0 Pro. Same computer as V 17 was installed in (windows 8.1, 64 bit. no network or server or other computers-just a single computer user, also no remote use at all) Presently ACT V 17 is integrated with Outlook 2007 and would like V 21 to do the same. Does anyone have any tips they would like to offer me before I start?

If I have to delete V 17, will the download link still work after today's expiration?

Very much thanks!

Backing up the database first would be a good idea. Do uninstall ACT! 17 before trying to install ACT 21. If your original install of ACT! 17 was version 17.0 you will also need to uninstall SQL 2008 R2 before installing ACT@ 21.

Re: upgrade to ACT V 21 from V 17-windows 8.1, 64 bit

I see I have only one: SQL Server browser for SQL Server 2014 (installed 6/12/15)-no others. I only remember the one install of ACT V 17 on 6/16/2015 and no updates. Maybe the 4 day install date difference was the days it took ACT help to figure how to upgrade from ACT 2007 ( a different database format). Do you think I will have to delete this Server browser for SQL Server 2014 ?

No. If your original install of ACT! 17 was version 17.1 then SQL 2008 R2 was never installed and it sounds like that was the case.

Install went good with your advice. After deleting V 17 all went smooth. Needed to download a network something but installer led me through it no problems. Thank you very much.
