my ISP recently changed the outgoing SMTP port to 587. I have it set up correctly and can send mail from other email clients. when I run the act test the incomming email is fine but the outgoing fails.
I would use outlook 2000 but it did not show as an option in the configure email setup.
please advise. thanks

ACT! Email editor uses standard port 25 for SMTP. It unfortunately will not work with port 587. And the reason that Outlook 2000 is not showing as an option is that ACT! 2008 only supports Office 2002-2007. You may be able to configure ACT! to work with Outlook Express per the following Knowledgebase article:
