I am getting the message below when the set up is checking the system:
ACT! has detected an ACT7 instance that could not be conected successfully. either you have entered incorrect password or sql service may not be running....
It is not asking for a password.
what can i do to get this reinstalled?

So this is a new hard drive that has supposedly never had ACT! installed on it?
Do you have any other programs installed that run SQL?
What form are you using for installation, cd or download?
Do you possibly have an antivirus/firewall that could be blocking the installation?
Which version of Windows are you running?
