recognizing incoming calls

Hello,

I have ACT! single user 2010. I use a Zoom Modem and automatic dialling.  It works great, but is there some way to get ACT! to recognize incoming calls ?

Thanks,

Bryan

Not out of the box, but there are a few addins which allow you to do this. (DIALIT) is one of them..

Re: recognizing incoming calls

It really depends on the modem ... many are "soft modems" and don't pass CallerID

To see if yours can, download Prone.zip from http://www.glcomputing.com.au/main/56/1

Extract the exe to your desktop and run it... it doesn't need to install
Click Start Session and then call the line from another phone

If the number you called from shows, then itDial will work... if not, then that modem can't be used to see the incoming number.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the info.  I don't see the prone.zip on the link you sent me.  Not sure where to look.

  Thanks for your help !

Re: recognizing incoming calls

Hi Mike,

   I appreciate your help.

I'm not the most computer-savvy person.

When I click on the link to phone.zip, I get an error message saying "file is either corrupt or invalid".

  Any suggestions ?

Thanks,

Bryan
