"The file you are attempting to restore does not contain an act backup"

I am getting this message when trying to restore my database from Act 6.0.2.720 to 10.0.0.237.  I created the database on a different computer and it forces me to do the restore as option.  I then get this message.  So I created a new empty 6.0 database from the new computer and tried to restore it.  It still made me do the restore as option and it it gave me the same error message as above.

My database is only 10MB so I don't think size is the problem.

What do I do now?

Because of the difference in database structure you are not able to restore a backup from ACT 6 directly in to ACT 10. You will need to actually convert the database.

To do this...
1. Unzip the ACT 6 backup to a folder on the new machine
2. Open ACT 2008
3. Go to File/Open Database
4. Change the file of type to .dbf
5. Browse to the folder you unzipped the backup to
6. Highlight the dbf file and click open
7. Follow the wizard to convert the database
