I get the error message "Not enough storage is available to process this command" once every day after very little use of Act.. I close and reopen the program and all is good for the rest of the day.
I have a very beefy I7 Windows 7 64 system with 16 gigabytes of RAM and plenty of space on the SSD and HD running Sage ACT! Pro 2011 Version 13.0.401.0, Hot Fix 2
I have tried reindex and deleting preferences. I am the only user on the program. I do monitor ram use and typically use about 4 to 5 GB out of the 16 installed.
Why would I have "not enough storage", and what type of storage is Act requiring?

This is probably becuase of damaged preferences file. Here you go - http://kb.swiftpage.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27438/kw/27438

I have deleted and created a new preference file already. Any other thoughts or suggestions?

Can anybody explain what type of storage space this error message is referring to? Is it ram, or something else?

My database has approximately 2500 contacts. I remember seeing the exact count of records but cannot recall where to find it.

Does anyone know what is triggering this error, or at least describe what type of storage the message is referring to? I have plenty of RAM and drive storage. What other type of storage would this be referring to?

You should be on Svc Pak1 Hotfix 6 ??
Reference the ACT Download Center link
http://act.com/support/download-center/
also insure that your Windows Updates are current -manually check them.
Then if no fixy,
I think I would try running ACTDIAG next?
Close ACT!
Run ACTDIAG / list databases / ( Run the db Rebuild Options on desired db)
Close ACTDIAG
Open your act db again..

A couple of things. First, thanks for your thoughts and assistance.
Act updates says I have the latest version (even though about Act shows Pro 2011 Version 13.0.401.0, Hot Fix 2). I tried running all the 2011 Pro product hot fix updates through and including 6 but they all said they do not apply to my version?
Windows updates are current.
I did try running actDiag previously.
Lastly, under the help menu, database information, database size it showed resv 109.13 and used 107.06. Could it be possible that the reserved database area needs to be larger than 109.13? If so, is there a way to increase the size?

I'm just guessing here;
Using ACTDIAG, use option to Detach desired database.
Close actdiag
use explorer to locate your act db folders and delete your db .pad file type and open db with your .adf file type extension.
The db will be re-verified when it is opened.
If no worky,
In the desired ACT! db, use options, File/ Save copy as / create empty copy
Then export your old database data into the new empty db..
