object of ref not set to an instance of object

Hi! I started getting the following error box everytime I type something into act: object of ref not set to an instance of object   Please let me know why this suddenly happened and how to remove this error box.

Object Reference messages can come from several reasons.  One of the most common is corrupted Act! Preference files.  Here is a link to instructions for rebuilding the Act! Preference files: Rebuild Act! Preference files

If you have Act! integrated with Outlook, you will not need to go through the steps to backup the email database.  I recommend that you skip the Actdiag steps and go directly to the 'Alternate Method: Manually Rebuilding Preferences' section.
