Has anyone received a private message from a new user asking to be contacted directly by eMail instead of responding via the forum. On the surface, it looks a little suspicious.
Any history of something like this in the community?

They've already been banned. I didn't see this post, but I did get the abuse notification. Gary in our UK office removed them. Continue reporting people for abuse if you see this behavior. Since it's in a private message it's harder for us to track those, of course, so I appreciate the post. I haven't come across that type of spam on here before.

I normally don't revive an old thread like this, but I found some answers.
When we ban a user, it sometimes takes a little time for the ban to fully take effect. I don't know why that happens, but it's just "how it is". The process of removing all of the messages is a bit more reliably fast, but is still a queue'd item, but takes about ten minutes to go through.

I'm going to change around my email filters today so that those abuse reports are more visible to me, and I'll keep my Ban-Hammer warmed up. I've started an internal discussion to see if there is anything we can do to help combat the spammers head on.
