moving from .dbf file type to 2010 (.adf?) file type

can anyone help me with this issue?  I have an old .dbf filetype ACT! database and just purchased 2010, which it appears rs a .adf database.  Looks like to me ACT has moved to an SQL Svr environment, but hopefully there's a transition path for me, since I really need to pull my database of 5000+ contacts forward and maintain its integrity / usability.

I'm also getting problems with the .dbf file opening at all, and it seems to be password-related; but I'm thinking this may correct itself once I convert the database?

Anyone out there who can help me?

Thanks!

Also, you won't be able to convert it if you don't know the username/password
