move database onto a File server

I have a database that is running on my computer and need to move it to a server because it is share with 7 users and was wondering what can be done to make it happen.  I just want to put the database on this server and not install anything else.

thanks

Re: move database onto a File server

If you're using full version of SQL...install that first and follow these steps:

If you're using the SQL Express that comes with the software...simply install that CD and run the setup program.  Install the SQL Express and ACT!

On your old computer...create an Export/backup from the File menu in ACT!...I think it ZIPs it up...move it to the new server where you have created a share for everyone to connect to...and then from the File Menu in ACT!...Restore/recover.

I did this a few weeks ago moving to a new server and it went really well and worked the first time.

Good luck,
