linking access to ACT! via OLDB issue

Trying to link to the Contact table in ACT! 2012 Pro (access 2013). I can link to the demo database via local server no porblem, and link/view some tables, but when it comes to contacts (which is what I want to link too, eliminating the need to export/import that data) I get the following error: "conversion failed when converting from a character string to uniqueidentifier.(#8169)"

Any ideas that may help with that?

thank you.

The other data is going to be in other tables, like phones, etc.

It sounds like you may be opening up the wrong table.  Opening dbo.contact will yeild that error. Try opening dbo.tbl_contact

Re: linking access to ACT! via OLDB issue

thanks Jon, I had linked to both dbo_Contact and dbo_TBL_Contact - and yes, the dbo_Contact table is the one that throws the error (although I can see the field names if I look at it via design view).  The dbo_contact table has the address data that I need (the other one doesn't, so even though that one links no problem, it isn't useful).

Ah, ok, so instead of being able to link to one table, which has all the data, I'll have to do multiple tables to get the same data. Well, that stinks, but appreciate the help.
