importing backed up ACT database into re-installed ACT 2011?

Hey guys.

I had been backing up my database once per month to an external memory device. Before I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7, I also copy / pasted the entire ACT  file onto remove storage as well.

Windows 7 is now installed. ACT 2011 re-installed. Trying to access my database (or move a copy from external memory back onto the C: drive in the appropriate destination)

It appears file is now in different format?

Can anyone provide suggestions on how to accomplish the above? I would greatly appreciate any feedback available. :-)

Hello Loganguy.

I hope when you say that you backup your ACT db that you have been using the internal backup utility within ACT.

If that is the case, all you have to do is check "save as" when you are prompted during the restore process.

Otherwise, I suspect one of the more technical members will offer up some help.

Yes, please provide more information about how you have attempted to "access" your database since the Win 7 install...

Have you done a back up and Restore As from within ACT!?

Are you just trying to copy files?  If so what files have you copied?
