history details via ODBC - trimming font data

I was able to connect via excel ACT! Reader 2.0 and utilize SQL command as found in Knowledge base Answer ID 25837 - I noticed, however that the details column has this type of code  at the beginning of the cell.

:  {\rtf1\fbidis\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0\deflang1033{\fonttbl{\f0\fnil\fcharset0 Calibri;}{\f1\fnil\fcharset0 Microsoft Sans Serif;}} \viewkind4\uc1\pard\ltrpar\f0\fs20 ....

Does anyone have any ideas how to strip that out (it's not the same in each cell, and user input-data is embedded in it as well)

Re: history details via ODBC - trimming font data

The activity, noted and history details is coded in Rich Text Format (RTF) which embeds the formatting coding in the actual text. Unless you use an RTF interpreter to display the detail you will see the plain text version which includes the format coding. I don't know if Excel has such and RTF interpreter available. the ACT! reports and the Durkin Impact reports does have one available.

thank you for the explanation. I guess there's no simple solution to that one.
