free space on disk volume 'c:\'

Hello.

trying to create a remote DB for one user, but during creation I get the following message "There is insufficient free space on disk volume 'c:\' to create the database", even though I am attempting to create the database on an external flash drive.

Why do I need the resources available on the C drive if the remote DB is supposed to be created elsewhere?

Cheers!

The process of creating a remote database unfortunately requires "temp space" on c:\.
Another hint: It is not a good idea to create a remote DB directly onto an external drive. Best practice is to use an internal drive as the primary target, then move the RDB to the external drive.
Also keep in mind that Flash drives and USB sticks are eventually formatted as FAT32 and therefore cannot handle files bigger than 4 GB. The resulting RDB file could easily exceed that size.
