I am finding this extremely frustrating. We have two separate clients who are both experiencing problems with their act. On one that is using sbs2008 premium one of the machines will not connect to the database on the network it just keeps saying their is a firewall issue. The machine was working perfectly for years and has now stopped.
The second company had been working correctly but has now given up completely and has exactly the same error message that there is a firewall issue.
I have tried everything I can find including dropping back to workgroup then to domain firewall on/off exceptions including programs and ports. The database at the first company is working fine from all other stations including over a vpn all the same machines dells and xp pro. I have checked permissions. I am getting to the point where I want to throw my laptop out of the window. I am hoping someone who has already been through this and come up with a solution can assist me.
