Ok, this means it is not on the layout. Click Field on the left to add a field to layout (cursor changes to a + sign), then click on the layout itself to see a list of available fields. Is the field in this list? If it is, select the field and click Add to put it on your layout.

Wow! Awesome! Thank you so much! The mystery is solved.

One last question for you, not sure if you are able to do it or not.

Is there anyway to merge the information that I have now found in contact b-day to contact birthday?

You can't merge it, but you can copy the data from one field to the other for selected contacts. See this Knowledgebase article for instructions:
