error when opening "write options"

We use ACT 2007, and have 3 users.  We just added the 3rd and are unable to open any "writing documents."  When we choose "write" and try to open any e-mail, letter, memo, etc. it says "specified file not found."  When we try to open from template, documents that we have created it says, "the selected template does not use a valid format.  If the template was created in a prior version of Act! it must be converted.  the template was created in the same version.  We have only ever had Act! 2007 9.0.  Any suggestions!!!

This may be a result of inadequate permissions to the directory where the templates are stored, or that directory may be missing, in another location or possibly damaged. Try opening the demo database (ACT9Demo) and see if you can write to one of the default templates for that database.

I encountered no problems in the Demo Database.  What do you think I need to do next?
