email auto recording history

Act 7 for dummies mentions that Act will automatically record a note in the history every time
you send an email to a contact as well as list the last date an email was sent in the field for that.  Mine
is not doing either.  Do you have to set that feature up initially?  I'm using ACT! 7 version 9
and Outlook 2003.
