eMarketing questions

I'm using ACT 2010 and eMarketing (Swiftpage) at the Basic level.  Do I really need to upgrade to Pro or Team to create Call Lists?  All I really want to do is see the opens/clicks/color fields on the List View and the Call Lists seem to be the only way to do that.  I can see the data I want on the the Contact level in the Marketing Tab but can't get the fields in the list.  I have the eMarketing fields added and active but they don't seem to contain the data I'm looking for.    Also, the "Search" in the eMarketing Tab will let me create a list/lookup only those contacts that didn't take action  for some reason.  That makes no sense as I am interested in those who did so we can focus certain efforts on them.  Having to review this information contact by contact is tedious.

Any ideas?

Re: eMarketing questions

2nd option.... Open up Swiftpage reports, view the report from the target campaign, list 'Unique Opens by Email', scroll to the bottom of the list and enter your email address then send the list to yourself. When the email arrives, open the attachment in Excel, add a column to 'label' the data and import into your database (duplicate matching against the email address and merging the label into a User field). Perform a lookup on the User field to list all respondents.

Re: eMarketing questions

You can synchronise ACT! With your SwiftPage Account via the Call List Panel in the Marketing Tab. Select the name of your campaign and 'Sync to Online Call List' (you have to 'Update' the online call list by clicking the 'Update' button in the browser view that is triggered when you select the 'Sync...' option).

Once you've done this, click the 'Lookup' button in the Call List panel on the Marketing Info Tab. You can then create a Lookup (into a Contact List view) or even a Group of your respondents.

Re: eMarketing questions

Thanks Will.

Your first suggestion is a good one but the Call List is unavailable to me since I have not signed up to the Pro or Team level on Swiftpage.  The Call List panel is there but to use it I have to upgrade my service level.

Your second suggestion works well to show the results for a single blast but I would really like to have some history.  I can see a customer's open/click history on the emarketing tab but I had hoped to be able to run a report (or create a List View) that lets me quickly see a pattern.  If the emarketing tab can show history I'd think that should be findable for reporting.  If I can see that someone doesn't open our emails after 2 or 3 times I'll approach them differently.  Clearly though, the most important follow-ups are those recipients that have been opening and clicking the most recent blast and your approach does show me that.

One other question.  I created the Swiftpage/emarketing fields but they are all blank.  Do you know what their data source is and if there's a way to use them?

Your help is is very much appreciated!

Re: eMarketing questions

For the additional $15 a month, I would suggest upgrading to the Pro level...

What's your time - and the ability to do what you need to be more effective - worth?  A lot more than $15/month...

Re: eMarketing questions

I agree, I'm just stepping up slowly.  Just going from Simply Cast at $60/year for our fairly low volume to ACT/Swiftpage at near $100 per month when I add the Drip Marketing is a big change.  Then again, to be able to track responses inside ACT is worth every penny.  Now, if we can just make the time to do the follow-up blasts and calls.  :-(

Re: eMarketing questions

Hi Will,

I got it working best by using the "Opens and Clicks" report, which lists Opens, Clicks, Forwards, and last activity date. No extra labeing is required. I created a simple import map with the email address and the dropping the fields into User Fields for now. It looks great on List View for sorting and I can switch right into the emarketing tab which will show me the history for a specific contact. Not perfect but very usable.

Thanks again!
