I'm operating ACT! by Sage 2008 (10.0) Version 10.0.2.191
I was happily working on my database yesterday, closed everything down and shut down the laptop.
Today I couldn't access the database, referenced my previous postings and found a reference to SQL server problems. I restarted the server but the database still would not load
I navigated to actdiag, clicked on the database and found
Newcastle_Foodbank_2012SUSPECT0.0012/10/2012 10:44C:\Users\Z\Documents\ACT\ACT For Windows 10\Databases\Newcastle_Foodbank_2012.ADF
There doesn't appear to be a PAD reference when I try to find the file so I've tried to open from the ADF location. The problem here is that an error window shows telling me I don't have permission to open this file.
Any suggestions would be greatly received

The ADF file may be in use if it is still attached to the server. I would go into ACTDIAG on the server and detatch the database, then reattach it. It should generate a new PAD file in the same directory as the ADF. Then try using the PAD file to connect to the database.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Mike,
I tried ACTDIAG and have an error message "Could not connect to the SQL Server Instance"
Thanks
